Anyone Else Struggling With History Essays?

Hello everyone, I wanted to ask if anyone else enjoys studying history but somehow struggles when it comes to writing essays because that has been my biggest problem this semester. I love reading about historical events and discussing them in class, but when I sit down to write, I always feel like I am just describing facts instead of making strong arguments. Last weekend I was studying with a friend and complaining about the feedback I had received on my latest paper, and she laughed when I said I seriously needed some History essay help because I could not figure out why my essays never seemed as good as the examples my lecturer showed us. We ended up spending more time talking about our frustrations than actually revising. Has anyone else found history essays harder than they expected and eventually figured out what made the biggest difference?
